Walking in the Shaw Woods
While at the Cottage Uncle Wayne took us for a tour of the Shaw Woods Outdoor Education Centre. Shaw Woods is a beautiful old growth forest that has an abundance of wildlife and plant growth. Wayne volunteers as a tour guide and had plenty of things to show us as we wandered along the trails.Hiking to Chester Lake in Kananskis
Scenery, Animals, and Wild Strawberries
We went out to the mountains for some "mountain therapy" (hiking at Chester Lake in Kananaskis). We stopped for a picnic lunch and some photo opps at the falls and then we made our way back to … Continue Reading ››Head-Smashed-In Buffalo Jump
Louise's brother Rob and his family came for a visit and we all went on a tour of southern Alberta together. This is a very impressive museum (and a Unesco World Heritage Site) that is way off the beaten path in the middle of a massive expanse of rural farmland. We really enjoyed the tour of the museum but also took advantage of the opportunity to walk around outside to see the actual Buffalo jump area too. It was a … Continue Reading ››
